One of the recommendations that I got from many people was to utilise the Norway in a Nutshell tour as we travelled from Oslo to Bergen. It is a great was to see the region, and I wish there had been more time (and money) to stop and spend a night in more towns along the way.
The day started a little tense when our uber cancelled right before pick up, and no one else seemed to be willing to take the booking. Our public transport options had already departed, and it was looking grim. We were eventually rescued by Mohammed who drove half an hour to get us, triple checked the options to get to the train station as fast as possible, and got us there in time to literally sprint to the train before it left. Thank you Mohammed, a five star rating to you my friend.

The train from Oslo took us to Myrdal where we joined the iconic Flamsbana to Flåm. This classic train covers one of the steepest tracks in Europe and has excellent views.
When we arrived in Flåm we jumped onto the Ferry to travel along the Fjord to Gudvangen. This ferry ride felt like floating on glass as we cruised down the Nærøyfjord to Gudvangen. Deep water, mountains and waterfalls.
We booked a night in Gudvangen and a kayak tour in the morning and experienced unusually warm weather. The kayaking was wonderful. We paddled up the Fjord in the sunshine, taking in the waterfalls. We stopped for lunch in a small picnic area before returning to the village in the afternoon. We were lucky to see seals and dolphins along the way.

Nærøyfjord
In thee early evening we caught a bus from Gudvangen to Voss, and then the train the rest of the way to Bergen. Along the way seeing the tongue of a glacier, mountains and the villages.
The trip takes around 12 hours of travel time, which we split over two days. I highly recommend it.
